Most leaks where a roof meets a wall or chimney come down to the flashing. We strip out failed or badly fitted lead and replace it with new step and cover flashings, chimney aprons, back gutters and soakers, cut and dressed to suit the tiles or slates and fixed so the lead can still move.
Flashings are usually Code 4 lead, with the piece sizes, laps and fixings set out in the Lead Sheet Association guidance. Where the old lead failed early we find out why first, whether that is oversized pieces, missing soakers or the wrong fixings.
We do flashings on their own, as part of a new extension roof, or alongside a re-roof. One customer had us flash their new extension and replace the old leadwork across the front of the house in the same visit.
Send us a photo of the chimney or wall and where the water is coming in and we will come and look.

FAQs
Questions we get asked
Can you just replace the flashing around my chimney?
Yes. We can take out the old chimney leadwork and fit a new apron, step and cover flashings and back gutter without re-roofing.
Is my leak definitely the flashing?
Not always. Leaks near a chimney can also be the pots, the brickwork or the tiles around it. We check all of it before we tell you what needs doing.

“I used this company for specialist leadwork which was complex and needed to be of the highest standard. They lived up to my expectation and were hard working, professional and at the top of their game.”
“The finish on the roof and leadwork was excellent and the whole process was really stress free with L&E Leadwork as Lewis was so knowledgable and friendly, we had constant communication and clear timelines! Would definitely recommend!”
